Product Care

Fabric Preservation

A definitive handbook to maintaining the drape, texture, and architectural integrity of your **leuvie** investment garments.

01 / Delicate Silk

Mulberry Silk

Our heavy sandwashed mulberry silk is chosen for its architectural drape and organic matte luster. It requires delicate, chemical-free care to keep the natural proteins intact.

Washing

Dry clean is strongly recommended. Alternatively, hand wash in cold water using only pH-neutral silk detergent. Do not twist or wring.

Drying

Lay flat on a clean dry towel away from direct sunlight and radiators. Never tumble dry silk, as it damages the fibers.

Ironing / Steaming

Steam gently on low heat, keeping the steamer nozzle 10cm away. If ironing, use the lowest silk setting and iron inside out through a press cloth.

Storing

Hang on wide, padded silk hangers. Avoid storing in plastic covers; instead, use breathable cotton garment shields.

02 / Pure Linen

Organic Italian Linen

Linen is a resilient living fiber that gets softer and more elegant with age. Restoration of its crisp, architectural pleats is simple with appropriate heat.

Washing

Wash inside out on a delicate cold cycle (max 30°C) with low spin. Use mild liquid detergents and wash similar colors together.

Drying

Reshape while damp and hang to air dry naturally. Avoid tumble dryers as they cause fiber fracture and permanent creasing.

Ironing / Steaming

Iron while still slightly damp on high heat (linen setting) to restore its architectural form. Use plenty of steam.

Storing

Store in a cool, dry place. Trousers should be hung by their cuffs or flat-folded neatly on drawers to avoid fold lines.

03 / Tailored Fibers

Virgin Wool & Silk

Tailored classics, such as our structured blazers, carry architectural padding and structural canvas layers. They must never be immersed in water.

Washing

Exclusively dry clean to protect internal canvases and canvas-interlinings. Spot-clean minor surface dirt with a damp neutral cloth.

Refreshing

Brush with a soft clothes brush after wear to remove dust and soil. Air out the blazer on a hanger for a few hours before returning to wardrobe.

Steaming

Do not iron structured wool. Instead, use a professional garment steamer to release wrinkles, revitalize fibers, and sanitize the piece.

Storing

Always hang on a contoured, wide wooden blazer hanger to preserve the architectural shoulder padding. Use cedar blocks to repel moths.
